In their natural habitat parrots spend the daylight hours either traveling to a food sources or searching for food. Integrating foraging behavior into your daily feeding regimen will enable you to provide a stimulating, reward oriented environment that encourages behaviours which are universally recommended by avian veterinarians and behavior consultants.
More time engaging in healthy, time consuming foraging behavior means less time available for peripheral displacement activities and or other potentially harmful or undesirable behaviours such as feather picking, excessive screeching etc.
Creative foraging systems Four Big Drawers is just that! Four drawers to fill with treats! Each drawer pulls out. Box attaches to cage with an acrylic disc.
This is toy is made from tough plastic.
Will provide stimulating, reinforcing activity.
Holds toys and food and promotes mental stimulation.
My SCC really loved this, but it didn't stand up to his constant jerking the drawers open and slamming them shut. He managed to rip the drawers out of two of these units!
I can't see a way to anchor them back in, either.
When he broke the first one, I thought maybe I got a bad one and ordered a second. Nope, he ripped the drawers out of it, as well! Too bad, he really loved these!

I bought this item for my Eclectus Parrot and she absolutely loves it! She very quickly learnt how it works but it's still such a novelty for her.
She knows this is where she finds her lunch every day and she enjoys opening each drawer to find what she's been given. The quality is outstanding ( I would say chew proof) and well worth the money.

DJ Olive Green - Sulphur Crested Cockatoo
Enduring long lasting foraging toy
We have had this toy for almost four years, and it is one of DJ's favourites! It is a permenant feature in her cage, with different foot toys and treats each day. Occasionally, in the early morning we will hear the loud K-CLANG sound of DJ throwing large plastic objects from the draws in the hope we will 'wake up' (we get the giggles). What is great about this toy is that she seems to never grow weary of it and has lasted the distance!
