Shipping Policy

• $11.95 Flat Rate Shipping Australia wide - This flat rate shipping charge will cover the majority of orders, but there are additional shipping charges for some circumstances, see below. 

Extra Shipping charges:

Parrot FOOD exceeds 4.5kg in weight to some Remote and Rural areas. 

• These extra charges are for areas within WA, NT & TAS and all RURAL & REMOTE areas of QLD, NSW, VIC & SA.
• These charges only apply if you are within the above areas and have ordered over 4.5kg of Bird Food (pellets, nuts, seeds) in your order. 
• Areas that are NOT affected are all metro areas of QLD, NSW, VIC & SA. If you are in these areas and not classed as a Remote or Rural area there is NO additional shipping charge unless you exceed 20kg of food.
• Extra postage charges are NOT calculated at checkout; they will be invoiced & charged separately once we receive your order. We will email you with further payment info once we receive your order.
• The extra postage charge may take up to 24 hours (Monday to Friday) to be emailed after you submit your order.
• This extra shipping charge will include the weight of other products you have ordered.
• We will try to keep these extra charges as cheap as possible, by sending your order via the most cost effective shipping method.
• The extra shipping charge will be the total of what we are charged by the shipping company take the flat rate charge you pay when you process your order. Cost to most areas will vary roughly between $15 to $20 for an additional 3 to 5kg in food. Cost varies depending on distance from SE QLD.
• If you are planning to order over 4.5kg of Food and would like a quote on postage prior to purchasing, please contact us
• Please note if you process an order that requires extra shipping charges and you request for us to cancel and refund the order, there maybe extra charges deducted from your refund to cover payment fees we are charged from Afterpay, Zip pay etc. 

PO BOX  (including PMB, Parcel Collect or any Australia Post collection points) 

• We recommend providing a residential address where possible, as courier delivery is typically the most cost-effective shipping method.
• We understand that some customers, particularly in rural areas, may only have access to a PO Box. Please note that large orders sent via Australia Post may incur additional shipping charges, even if food items are under 4.5kg, due to higher postage costs compared to courier services.
• Orders containing more than 4.5kg of food will incur additional shipping fees. These costs vary depending on the total weight and your location, but are generally between $10–$20 for an additional 3–5kg of products.
  
• If extra shipping charges apply, we will contact you via email after your order is placed to confirm before processing.

LARGE Products with Extra shipping Message

• Some products may state on the product description that extra shipping charges apply, such as the Java Bridge, Giant T-Stand & Pine Cones etc.
• The same shipping info above under Extra shipping charges applies to these items.
• We will contact you via email after we receive your order for the extra shipping charges or you can contact us prior to purchase to receive a quote. 

Shipping Method:

• Orders are sent either via Australia Post or Aramex (Fastway) Couriers. 
• We will assess which option is more cost effective based on the weight and dimensions of your parcel. 
• We are NOT open for local pickups.
• If you have a PO Box as your shipping address, your order will be sent via Australia Post only, but please note there maybe extra shipping charges, see above under extra shipping info. 
• If you request for us to send your order via Australia post rather then courier then there also maybe extra shipping charges. 
• We prefer you provide us with a residential address rather than a PO Box, as the Courier will not deliver to PO Box addresses and in most cases sending parcels via Courier is more cost effective.
• If you provide us with a business address, please also include the business name at checkout. 

Authority to Leave (ATL):

• All parcels sent via Aramex Courier & Australia Post will be left in a safe place. If you would like your parcel left in a certain place or require a signature for delivery, then please leave a note under the "Add Note" section of the Shopping Cart page where you would like your parcel left. E.g Leave parcel at front door or that you require a signature. Please note there may be extra charges if a signature is required. 
• Proceeding with your order will automatically indemnify Chipper Parrots, Australia Post, Aramex and its Courier Franchisee against any claim for loss and / or damage relating to any freight item left.

EXPRESS Shipping:

• This option is available if you email us with your request, as soon as you submit your order. There are extra shipping charges on top of the flat rate fee for express shipping. E.g 5kg Express shipping will range from $5 to $15 extra shipping charges on top of the $11.95 flat rate fee.
• If your order is over 4.5kg in weight then the charges maybe more.
• Please email us if you require a quote on express shipping charges. 

Shipping Delivery Time Frame

• We try to process and ship orders promptly, so your order will normally be processed & dispatched within approx. 2 business days (between Monday to Friday only) from the date payment is received. E.g. You submit your order on Monday and we will process the order Tuesday and it will ship either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on how busy we are and if we pack your order before courier pickup. 
• There may be extra delays during busy pre xmas, newsletter promotions, shop sale periods and for orders received over the weekend. Please allow an extra day for processing. E.g. If placing your order over the weekend, it will ship by Tuesday. 
• We are CLOSED Saturday and Sundays, so orders will not be processed during that period. 
• Delivery time to most areas once your parcel leaves here is approx. 2 to 5 business days (Monday to Friday)
• Remote/Rural Areas, Western Australia, Northern Territory & Tasmania may take up to approx. 7 to 10 business days (Monday to Friday) generally if you are more than one hour from a major city, you may be classed as a Remote area. 
• If you are in one of these areas and would like to receive your parcel quicker, please contact us via email once you place your order and we can discuss express shipping options and cost. 
• Any time frames given for delivery are a guide only. These times may not take into account local public holidays, busy periods or road delays. Please allow 3 more extra days for delivery in case of transit delay
• We will send email notifications to you once your order has been received and shipped. 
• Tracking - Once your order has been shipped you will be sent an email shipment confirmation that will include your tracking number and website link. There may be limited info provided on the tracking link to remote & rural areas, so if you would like more info on the tracking of your parcel please contact us on the contact us link below.
• Contact us if you have not received your Order confirmation email after submitting your order. It might be that your email was entered incorrectly at checkout. 
• Contact us if you have not received your parcel after 5 business days from when your shipping confirmation email was received. (Days will depend on distance from SE QLD, as mentioned above Remote, Rural, WA & NT may take up to approx. 10 working days, please allow an extra 3 days for transit delays)
• Please note there will be delays in processing/shipping orders during public holiday periods and our closed periods during Xmas & January, so the standard times given above may not be applicable during these times. 

Western Australia Quarantine Notice

Orders sent to Western Australia may be subject to inspection by WA biosecurity authorities and/or quarantine intervention. While many of our products are commonly accepted for interstate shipping, some seed, grain, and plant-based ingredients may fall under WA import conditions or require additional assessment. This can include restrictions, inspection delays, treatment, or, in some cases, additional certification requirements depending on product composition. As regulations are set and enforced by WA authorities, any outcomes of inspection (including delay, treatment, or refusal of entry) are outside our control and remain the responsibility of the recipient. Customers are responsible for ensuring products are suitable for import into Western Australia prior to ordering.

International Shipping

• All International orders need to be emailed to info@chipperparrots.com.au
• Please add your items to the shopping cart and copy and paste the cart into the email.
• Once we receive your email we will provide you shipping quote options. 
• Shipping will take from approx. 3 to 10 working days (Monday to Friday) 
• If you want to proceed once we have provided you a shipping quote, we will then send you a PayPal invoice for payment via Credit card (you do NOT need a PayPal account to process this payment)
• There are restrictions in certain countries with what can be imported for example we cannot ship any of the Natural timber products, gum nuts, Banksia nuts and Food into the US, due to Import restrictions on plant/wood/food products. 
• There may be extra duty/taxes that need to be paid to customs once your order arrives in your country. These charges are not included in our price, so you will need to pay this extra charge once your order arrives in your country.
